Hastings Punk Choir presents and performs with the Television Personalities

The Carlisle, Hastings
Friday 20 September 2024, Doors open 7.30pm
Early bird tickets £7 from

Join the legendary TV Personalities for a night celebrating the song writing craft of Dan Treacy.

An English post-punk band formed in 1977, their 1978 EP ‘Where’s Bill Grundy Now?’ brought them to popular attention and features their chart hit, the seminal ‘Part Time Punks’.

Bringing their usual mix of mayhem and punk covers, also expect a set from Hastings Punk Choir and an array of popular punk belters from the night’s DJs.

We are the anti-choir!

Hastings Punk Choir is built around the idea that we can all sing and the punk ethos of making music DIY style. There’s no need for any formal training or auditions, just bring your passion and your enthusiasm. We are the anti-choir!

We just love singing together. We practise weekly and perform a mixture of a cappella and guitar-accompanied arrangements of songs by punk bands past and present. Included in our current repertoire are numbers by the Buzzcocks, Ramones, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Delta 5, Wire, X-Ray Spex, Blondie, The Clash, Iggy Pop, The Lovely Eggs, Dead Kennedys, The Damned, Sex Pistols, Tom Waits, Kid Kapichi, The Undertones, the list goes on.

Tom Elvy

Musical Director

Meet musical director extraordinaire Tom Elvy. Directing the choir is rather like herding cats; fortunately, Tom is a master at cat-herding. He also arranges our songs, accompanies us on guitar, and tells us when we are off key, at the wrong tempo or just wrong!

Hastings Punk Choir fearless leader Karen.

Karen Burgess

Choir Leader

Responsible for the manic mayhem that is Hastings Punk Choir, meet Karen Burgess, our fearless leader. Seeking to spread a little joy and a lot of irreverence through the medium of punk songs, Karen founded the choir in 2021.
